(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)Helen Arlene (Johnson) Moore, age 70 of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 7:22 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born November 25, 1955, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Eva Mamie Church.
Helen was a homemaker and was a Bond Agent for Bond, James Bond Agency in Cartersville, Georgia. She was a Shawnee Indian Researcher and enjoyed dancing, singing, cooking, fishing, and camping. She enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren and attended the Summit Baptist Church.
Helen is survived by her children, Dennis Wells and his fiancée, Jewett Collazo, of St. Robers, Missouri, Melaine Wells of Texas, Jeremy Wells of Calhoun, Georgia, Kimberly Lackey and her husband, Zack, of Neosho, Missouri, William Derrick Roe, Bridgett Vaughn, and Meliah Wells, all of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Bobby Vaughn of Joplin, Missouri, Jed Rhodes of Calhoun, Georgia and Gage Rhodes, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Tyler, Jesse and Amilee Wells, Kelsey Dockery, Javen Wells, Ryder and Maddy Shulas, Logan, Makaela and Lacey Bailey, Kaysen Wolff and Declan Roe; two brothers, Willie and Clifford and four sisters, Alice, Frances, Eva and Barbara.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Church; one sister, Dolly; three brothers, Junior, Charles, and Alfred and two daughters-in-law, Kathy and Kendra Wells.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at a later date at the Mountain Spring Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.
