(From Ozark Funeral Home)Gloria Chesser, a beacon of warmth and generosity, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 77, in her home in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Born Gloria Jean Carroll on November 22, 1948, to the late Robert Carroll and Helen (Stewart) Carroll, Gloria's life was a testament to the power of love and the joy of family.
Gloria grew up alongside her siblings, and though preceded in death by her sisters Sue, Cathy, and Debbie, and her grandson Josh Drake, her spirit of kinship and devotion lives on. She is survived by her sister Barb Evans and her husband Dan, her brother Bob Carroll, her beloved children Rick Drake and wife Debbi of Tulsa, OK, Robert Drake and wife Rae Lynne of Pineville, MO, and Joshua Chesser of Sand Springs, OK. Gloria's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren Angie Fernandez (David), Maverick Drake (Marcie), Matthew Drake (Lindsey), Ryan Drake (Terri), and Corinne Drake (widow of Josh), as well as her 13 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Gloria's professional life was marked by dedication and excellence as an Account Specialist with Airgas, where she cultivated not only a successful career but also lasting friendships over her 30 years before retiring in 2019. Her colleagues remember her as a reliable and kind-hearted individual who brought enthusiasm and a sharp wit to the workplace.
A woman of many passions, Gloria cherished moments spent with her family above all else. She reveled in the thrill of travel, particularly when it involved gathering with her siblings and extended family at reunions, where laughter and stories filled the air. Gloria loved to fish and was an ardent supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners football team, her spirit and cheers as much a part of the game as the players on the field.
Her home in Sand Springs was a hub of love and hospitality, filled with memories of her children and grandchildren and the comfort of her beloved dog Maggie at her side. Gloria's nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them, leaving behind memories of joy and the warmth of her love.
Those who knew Gloria will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and generosity. Her ability to make each person feel valued and her endless capacity for giving will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Gloria Chesser at the Pineville Community Center on Sunday, February 22, at 10:00 a.m., where family, friends, and loved ones will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears, commemorating a life beautifully lived and a woman deeply loved.
