(From Clark Funeral Home)Ruthie Bell Ragland was born on January 2, 1953, to William Henry and Millie Agnes (Cowdrey) Homuth in Neosho, Missouri. She passed away on February 13, 2026, in Joplin Missouri, at the age of 73.
Ruthie graduated from Neosho High School. She married Anthony Karl Ragland on November 9, 1991, in their living room in Neosho. They were married just 6 days shy of 30 years when Anthony passed away on November 3, 2021.
Over the years Ruthie was employed at Big Smith in Neosho, in the housekeeping department at St John’s Hospital in Joplin, she was a trimmer for 19 years at Tysons, an overnight stocker at Wal-Mart, and her last job was in housekeeping at Seneca House.
When she wasn’t working, you could find her holding a paper Chinet cup with 6 spoons of creamer, 2 sugars, and a little coffee. It was said that she enjoyed her cream with a little coffee in it. She was a dog lover. She had many dogs throughout her lifetime, but the one that she spent the last 12 years loving and spoiling was Jasper. Above coffee and her dogs, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. They all loved to visit Memaw and raid her candy dish. Not only did she have treats for the grandchildren, but she also had treats for their dogs. She was a beloved mother, Memaw, and Great Memaw, who will be greatly missed.
Ruthie is survived by her daughters Kimberly Barker and her husband, Adam, Goodman, Missouri, and Amber Peralez and husband, Junior, Neosho, Missouri. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Kassidy Ward, Austin Barker, Abbie Bridges, Isabella Mercer, and Melonie Todd; 6 great-grandchildren; Adonis, Jolene, Peter, Magnolia, Charlotte, and Isaiah; and one sister, Marjorie Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anthony, two sisters, Shirley Payton and Katherine Payton, her daughter, Crystal Wright, a stepson, Joshua Ragland, two granddaughters Laci Barker and Crystal Daugherty, and two great-grandchildren Sammy and Avery.
