Thomas Lee

Thomas Edwin Lee, 76, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on February 21, 2026. He was born on July 19, 1949 to the late Edwin and Willie (Bruton) Lee.

Thomas's early years were spent in the company of horses, a passion he inherited from his father, a respected horse trainer. This love for equine companions led him to become a horse jockey in his youth, a pursuit that taught him the values of discipline and hard work. These lessons served him well throughout his life, particularly in his career as a machinist. Thomas retired after decades of dedicated service, during which he was known for his meticulous craftsmanship.








Thomas was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace in the embrace of nature, whether he was camping under the stars or simply enjoying the fresh air of a morning ride. His skills at the pool table were well-known among his friends and family. He took great joy in preparing meals for his friends, often hosting gatherings where stories were shared, and bonds were strengthened.

Above all, Thomas was a family man. His devotion to his loved ones was the cornerstone of his life. He instilled in his family the values of love, respect, and the importance of a life well-lived. His legacy is carried on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Thomas is survived by his children; Heather Dunnaway (Donnie), Hilary Glass (Steve), and Thomas Lee (Cheryl); grandchildren, D.J. Dunnaway, Sam Dunnaway, Alesha Wilson, Brittany Stock, and Brooke Boyer; great-grandchildren; Taylynn Dunnaway, Daytynn Dunnaway, Avery Dunnaway, Luna Dunnaway, Abigail Duncan, Jesse Wilson, Daytona Wilson, Hayden Daugherty, Hayleigh Daugherty, Kendrick Stock, Taten Boyer, and Bentley Boyer; siblings, Edith Danley and Bill Lee.








Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan Lee, and sister, Eva Bruton.

A funeral service is planned for Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Revival Center in Carterville, MO. Burial to follow at Osborne Cemetery in Joplin, MO. The family invites friends for a time of visitation on Thursday February 26, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.

Arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
