(From Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary)Anna Cooper passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Joplin, MO, at the age of 96. Born on July 8, 1929, in Allentown, PA, to the late Emil and Maria Weber, Anna's life was a testament to the power of caring and dedication.
Anna's early years in Allentown were marked by a spirited intelligence and a nurturing heart; qualities that led her to pursue a career in nursing. After graduating from Allentown High School, she furthered her education at Lankenau Hospital where she graduated as a registered nurse. She worked at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin for 20 years.
After retirement, she enjoyed playing golf at Briarbook Country Club and travelling with her friends to the beach. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gathering with family and friends. After moving to Wildwood Senior Living four years ago, she made new friends with residents and staff. Those who knew Anna will remember her as the epitome of kindness. She approached every person and situation with a sense of humor and loving heart, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Anna's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her son, Wes Cooper and his wife, Julie, of Houston, TX; her daughter, Annette Moran and her husband, Matthew, of Carl Junction, MO; her adored grandchildren, Ethan Cooper and Sydney Cooper, both of Houston, TX; Aaron Moran and his wife, Cheri, of Webb City, MO; Elaine Moran of Springfield, MO; and her great-grandchildren, Zaidyn, Cora, and Rilyn Moran.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her siblings, Otto Weber, Pauline Ebner, and Ella Davies.
A funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church of Joplin where she was a long-time member. Burial will follow at Osborne Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society in care of the mortuary.
