(From Clark Funeral Home)Jim Farley, 86, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on July 28, 1939, in Stark City, Missouri, to William Glenn and Irene (Landreth) Farley. He was one of twelve children and grew up learning the value of hard work, family, and faith. He graduated from Mid-Way High School in 1957 in Stark City.
In his early years, Jim lived in Anchorage, Alaska, where he owned and operated Farley Brothers Construction, specializing in cement and block work, roofing, and remodeling. Later, alongside his twin brother Jack, he purchased matching 10-wheeler trucks and began hauling grain — a venture that sparked his lifelong love for trucking. Around 1990, Jim and his son, Jimmie “Bubby” Farley, started Farley Trucking, a business he proudly operated until his retirement in 2008.
While Jim worked hard, nothing meant more to him than his family. He never missed a sporting event for his grandchildren and was their biggest fan. In 2005, he proudly laid the backstops at Morse Park with his youngest grandson, Dustin Farley — a project that remained especially close to his heart. Every summer was spent at Sailboat Bridge in Grove, Oklahoma, where he made lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. Whether boating, fishing, or simply sitting back watching the kids enjoy the day, those were his happiest moments. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life — especially relaxing with a good cigar, soaking in a quiet evening surrounded by the people he loved.
Jim absolutely adored his eleven great-grandchildren — being around them lit up his world in a way that words can’t fully capture.
