(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Melva Ann Borland, 79, entered into rest on February 20, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born to Delva and Frances (Bingaman) Jordan December 17, 1946, in Wilmington, NC Melva loved the Lord and her family and friends. She was an avid casino patron and treasured her privacy. Melva was a homemaker.
Melva united in marriage to Joe Thomas Borland September 5, 1964, in Carthage, MO. They were happily married for 54 years; Joe preceded her in death August 27, 2018. Together they had three children.
Melva is survived by one son, Kevin Borland of Carthage, MO; two daughters, Tammy Borland-Chairez of Reeds, MO and Shelly Borland-Root (Wes) of Reeds, MO; two brothers, Jesse Jordan of Wilmington, NC and Dee Jordan (Terri) of Burgaw, NC; two sisters, Marilyn Swanger of Carthage, MO, and Donna Richardson (Shep) of Rockey Point, NC; seven grandchildren, Chance Borland, Chase Borland, Chelsa Briggs, Garrett Roberts, Kole Borland, Kelsie Roberts, and Jordan Chairez; nine and a half great grandchildren, Cayden Borland, Versace Beckner, Achilles Borland, Aries Borland, Jackson Roberts, Benton Borland, Sailor Briggs, Ryder Dumas, Sage Briggs and one coming in June of 2026; and one special friend, Stephanie Borland.
Melva is proceeded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Baughman; one sister-in-law, Jan Jordan; and one brother-in-law, Don Swanger.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2026, at Park Cemetery, Carthage, MO. At the family’s request, please wear your best Dallas Cowboys gear to the service.
