(From Parker Mortuary)Glen Leon Cummings, age 92, passed away on February 9, 2026. He was born on August 14, 1933, in McDonald County, Missouri, to the late Fred and Othal Cummings.
After graduating from Anderson High School in 1951, Glen honorably served in the National Guard until 1958, demonstrating his commitment to his country and community. His early career began at Sears Roebuck, where he worked diligently from 1951 to 1961. Glen's strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit led him back to his roots, where he worked on the family farm from 1961 to 1963.
In 1963, Glen moved to Carl Junction, where he established a successful hay hauling business that served the local agricultural community until 1981. His business acumen and dedication to service shone brightly as he founded and operated Lost 40 Salvage, a business that became a staple in Carl Junction until his well-deserved retirement in 2000.
Glen's life was not only defined by his professional achievements but also by his personal joys and passions. He met the love of his life, Joan Robbins, in June 1954, and they were married on August 21, 1954. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, lasting an impressive 71 years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and mutual respect.
Glen is survived by his loving wife, Joan Cummings; children, Kimberly Jo Larson (Mark), Christopher Glen Cummings (Mary); grandchildren, Zach Larson, Cory Larson, Dawnielle Lipscomb (Tyler), and Cody Cummings (Jessica); 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gladys Frey, Robert Cummings, and Kenneth Cummings; and several friends, old and young.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Linn Cummings; siblings, Loretta Lawrence, Lucille Hodson, and Phillip Cummings.
The family wants to send their sincere thanks to his caregivers, Amanda Collins and Lacey Meier.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Rooted Church in Carl Junction, MO with Pastor B.J. Cummings officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin, MO. The family invites friends for a time of visitation On Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel in Joplin, MO.
