(From Parker Mortuary)Linda Sue Duncan, a beacon of warmth and generosity, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 79 at Cox Health in Branson, Missouri surrounded by her family Born on December 9, 1946, in Joplin, Missouri, to the late Jess L. Hartje and Viola P. Hildreth-Hartje, Linda's life was a testament to the power of a living faith expressed through selfless devotion to her family and friends
A proud graduate of Carl Junction High School in 1964, Linda devoted her life to the loving care of her family as a homemaker; after retiring she worked for several Branson area supermarkets sampling various premium food items becoming known as the Sample Queen. Her nurturing spirit was the cornerstone of her home, creating an environment filled with love, faith and encouragement. Linda's dedication to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and her legacy survives with her children and their families.
Linda is survived by her sons, Tommie M. Duncan, II and his wife Lynn of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Todd “Matt” Duncan and his wife Jeannie of Harrison, Arkansas; her daughters, Terrie M. Tanner and her husband Steven of Springfield, Missouri, and Lora "Muffin" Miller and her husband Nathan of Branson, Missouri. She was the cherished grandmother to Jessica, Jacob, Ian, Graham, Jade, Carter, Jessica, Braelen, Jaden, Michelle, Dakota, Bailey, Molly, and Jayden, and she was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
Known for her artistic talent, Linda had a profound love for drawing and painting, often capturing the beauty of the world as she saw it through her eyes. Her creativity was not just a hobby but a way of connecting with those around her, sharing her vision and joy with every stroke of the brush. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of books, and her thirst for knowledge was insatiable. Her artistic talent encouraged her children to pursue unique niches of expression from knife making to stained glass and performance music and dance.
Her generosity knew no bounds, and she was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. Her selfless nature was a gift to all who knew her, and her passionate approach to life inspired her family and friends to live fully and love deeply, with a hope for a better future.

Other than her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her late husband, Tommie M. Duncan, Sr., whom she married on July 9, 1966 in Joplin and he passed away in 2009. Additionally, her siblings, Jess “Bud” Hartje, Lorena Hunter, Delores Scuffem and Mary Ann Hansen.
A memorial visitation and celebration of a life well lived will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parker Mortuary. Her ashes will be buried with her late husband at a later date at the Osborne Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri.
