(From Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home)Dewana Jean Koehler, age 63, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at her home. She was born August 17, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas Eugene and Ruby Kay (Crabtree) Foster.
Dewana was a 1980 graduate of Purdy High School, in Purdy, Missouri. She was the founder and owner/operator of Black Bird Grill in Aurora, Missouri for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her family.
Dewana is survived by three daughters, Megan Cox and her husband, Justin, Christina Wittenborn and her husband, Travis and Selena Koehler, all of Aurora, Missouri; one son, Trevor Koehler, of Verona, Missouri; her mother, Kay Halvorson of Shell Knob, Missouri; two sisters, Glenda Foster, of Aurora, Missouri and Valita Thompson of Flossmoor, Illinois; one brother, Tommy (Heather) Foster of Aurora, Missouri; two cousins, Carla (Wayne) Franks of Webb City, Missouri and Pam Verstrate of Monett, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sophia, Harper, Jameson, Caleb and America and several nieces and nephews.
Dewana was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Foster; her maternal grandmother, Ruby Arnsmeyer and her aunt and uncle, Donna and Alvin Parker (auntie and unc).
A visitation will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Missouri.
