Curtis Bishop

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Curtis Duane Bishop entered the gates of Heaven on February 10, 2026, at the age of 87.

Curtis was born on July 20, 1938, in Jay, Oklahoma, to Howard Eddie Bishop and Gladys Lorene Bishop. He graduated from Neosho High School in 1956 and served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

On July 2, 1957, he married Patricia Ann Massey, at Oakwood Christian Church in Neosho, Missouri. They shared many years of making memories until her passing on January 23, 2025.

Curtis worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight for many years until his retirement. Over the years, he also worked at Tri-State, Meadow Gold, Hiland, Bunny Bread, and several other places. No matter the job, Curtis worked hard and took pride in doing it well.

It didn’t take much for Curtis to have a good time. He enjoyed going to casinos, gardening, cattle, working on his tractors cutting hay, and camping, but above everything, his greatest joy was spending time with his wife, his children and his grandchildren. They were the center of his world.

He attended Neosho Christian Church and valued his church family.

Curtis is survived by his children, Eddie (Julie) Bishop of Seneca, Missouri; Mike (Cindy) Bishop of Neosho, Missouri; Bob (Sheila) Bishop of Neosho, Missouri; and Janet (Mike) Baker of Neosho, Missouri.

He is also survived by his brother, Rick Bishop; sisters, Carolyn (Clyde) Camerer, Naomi (Jim) Cooper, and Patsy (Fred) Burr; and sister-in-law, Donna (Ronnie) Ferguson, grandchildren, Cory (Lacey) Bishop, Joey (Katlynn) Bishop, Danielle (Will) Hicks, Kirstin Bishop (Walker), Jeff (Lindsey) Yost, Tiffany (Michael) Selgeby, Rodney (Stephanie) Baker, and Ashley (Kyle) Crane; along with 22 great-grandchildren, numerous extended family members, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Patricia; sister, Lila Jean Roy; brother, Howard Eddie Bishop Jr.; and great-great-grandchild, Finley Baker.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 15, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, at 1:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, with Truman Brady officiating.
