Clifford Hewlett

Clifford Dale Hewlett, 85 of Marionville, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. He was born on August 3, 1940, between Aurora and Monett, Missouri, to Clifford J. and Mildred (Schnake) Hewlett.

Clifford graduated from Monett High School in 1958 and proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. After his military service, he began working for AT&T in Joplin, Missouri. While attending training for new employees in Kansas City, Missouri, he met the love of his life, Merceda Huckaby. They were married on June 20, 1964, and shared nearly 62 wonderful years together.

Clifford and Merceda began their married life in Joplin, Missouri, and were blessed with two daughters, Tamera and husband Tom Vallejo, and April Hewlett.









Clifford was a dedicated teacher, a faithful deacon in his church, and a man who deeply loved the Lord. His faith was central to his life, and he often spoke with hope and joy about being here when the Lord returned.

He is survived by his wife, Merceda Hewlett; daughters Tamera Vallejo and husband Tom Vallejo, and April Hewlett; sister Barbara Vargas of Texas; brother Stanley Hewlett and wife Nicki of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother Donnie Hewlett of Aurora, Missouri; and brother Steven Hewlett and wife Jeanette of Aurora, Missouri.

He was a proud grandfather to Gabby Sacher and husband Kyle Sacher, Karly Vallejo of Folsom, California, and Alyssa Hewlett-Mandich of Sacramento, California.









Clifford will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his strong faith, his service to others, and the kindness and wisdom he shared throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held at Peterson Funeral Chapel, 229 W. Church St., Aurora, Missouri, on Monday May 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Baptist Church of Marionville, 301 S. College St., Marionville, Missouri 65705, on Saturday May 23, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

Arrangements are under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
