Nonnie Lofton

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Nonnie Shauree Lofton, age 52, of Carl Junction, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, near Galena, Kansas. She entered this life on July 13, 1973, at the United States Air Force Hospital in Merced, California, the third of four children born to the union of Leonard Dean and Terry Rae (Jones) Myers.

She lived in California until moving to Anderson, Missouri, in 1993. She attended Crowder College and later graduated from MSSC with her associate's degree in psychology. By trade, Nonnie was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and a caregiver.

Her caring nature extended far beyond her profession, as she was known for helping others in whatever way she could. Nonnie enjoyed traveling and visiting area casinos, and she especially loved “stirring the pot” among her family and friends in her playful and ornery way. Her sense of humor and lively spirit brought laughter and memorable moments to those around her. She was a force to be reckoned with as she was very persistent and when she set her mind on something she wanted, she would stop at nothing to make it happen. The woman could move mountains if she wanted to. She was just a fierce as she was fabulous. She had a way of making ordinary days more interesting, and her personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her four children, Angela Venegas of Carl Junction, Missouri, Gump Lofton of Republic, Missouri, Challes Kershaw of Neosho, Missouri, and Dalbie Lofton of Neosho, Missouri. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Charlie, Madison, Paisley, Michael, and Margaret, who brought great joy to her life. She is further survived by her mother, Terry Rogers of Grove, Oklahoma; her husband, Aaron Lofton; her companion of twelve years, Benny Padilla; her current companion, Sherman Ferguson; and a host of other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Dean Myers, and three siblings, Leonard Jr., Charley, and Ashley Myers.

Memorial services are pending at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
