Thomas Willhite

(From Parker Mortuary)

Thomas G. Willhite was born August 27, 1954. He was the youngest child of Gene Willhite, an insurance agent and World War II veteran of Aurora Missouri and Ivie, nee Cutting, of Haver Hill, New Hampshire.

In 1972, Thomas graduated from Joplin Memorial High School, where he was an accomplished ROTC Cadet. He attended Pittsburg State University before starting a 36-year career at Tamko Roofing Products as a maintenance technician.

Thomas was a music lover and skilled musician. He played guitar, piano, trumpet and many other instruments. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, travelling with his bike to South Dakota for the Sturgis Rally multiple times. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and made sure his daughter learned those skills as well. Thomas had his pilot’s license and loved to take his friends and family into the sky on sight-seeing excursions.

He was great at celebrating the Fourth of July and this one will be hard for all of his barbeque buddies.

Thomas Willhite traveled the path of his ancestors on Thursday, June 25. He will join his parents, and older brother Joe down that road. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Summer, sister Bet, lifelong best friends Leroy and Connie and their family, as well a niece, nephew, 4 great-nieces, 1 great-nephew, 1 great-great-nephew, and so many friends.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on July 18 at The Road 1005 West Daugherty, Webb City, MO.

Cremation arrangements are under the special care of Parker Mortuary.
