(From Ozark Funeral Home)James Lee Patterson, age 64, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on July 1, 2026. He was born on December 22, 1961, in Joplin, Missouri, and lived a life marked by love, faith, hard work, and devotion to his family and the people who knew him best. James was a loving, kind, and adventurous man who made lasting memories wherever he went.
He was known for his warm heart, his steady presence, and the joy he found in simple pleasures. He loved hunting and fishing, and he especially treasured spending time with his grandchildren. Whether he was sharing stories, cheering from the sidelines, or enjoying time outdoors, James brought a sense of comfort and encouragement to those around him.
He was a well-traveled welder who worked across the United States, building a life through skill, dedication, and an honest day’s work. His career took him many places, but his heart remained rooted in family and faith. James was strong in his beliefs and attended God’s Glory Tabernacle International, where he found fellowship and strength in his walk with the Lord. His faith was an important part of who he was, and it guided the way he lived each day. James enjoyed spending his summers on Elk River, where he found peace and happiness in the beauty of the outdoors. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events and took great pride in every moment he could spend supporting them. His presence at those events meant more than words could express, and his family will always remember the encouragement and love he gave so freely.
He is survived by his fiancée, Kim Hall; his parents, David Patterson and Vivian, and Ruth Anne Patterson; his children, Jindy Patterson Casares and her husband David, Chelsea Holloway and her husband Austin, and Allen Patterson and his wife Hannah; and his grandchildren, Wyatt, Matthew, Paisley, David, Shiloh, Phoenix, Skylar, Kili, Layla, Hunter. He is also survived by his siblings, Patrick Patterson and his wife Joyce, and Sherry Nicks and her husband Jay.
James was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Seifert; his paternal grandparents, David Patterson and Irene Patterson Dildine; his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Louise Smith; and his uncles, Butch Vance and Robert Patterson and nephew, Zachary Slusher; grandchildren, Remington and Ruger Patterson.
Those who knew James will remember him for the love he gave, the strength he carried, and the adventurous spirit that made him such a special part of their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
A Celebration of life for James will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the God's Glory Tabernacle international Church at 5885 Route W, Anderson, MO 64831
