Jerry Jumper

Dr. Jerry L. Jumper, 84, Joplin, MO. passed away July 10, 2026 at the Solace House of the Ozarks in Joplin after an illness.

Jerry Lee Jumper was born May 2, 1942 in Colbert, OK, the son of Louis Jumper Sr. and Mallie (Cowan) Jumper.He was a 1960 graduate of Page High School in Page, AZ. Jerry did his undergraduate studies at Arizona State University and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery in 1970. He did his internship at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, MO, and then practiced family medicine across the state of Kansas, in towns like DeSoto, Garden City, and Sabetha, KS, and in Missouri in Ava, Springfield, Rolla, Nevada, finally retiring as Chief Medical Officer at Access Family Healthcare, in 2020. 






He served as the Secretary of The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, and was a lifelong advocate for patient care. He loved animals (esp. English Bulldogs), gardening, traveling, and held a civilian pilot's license for many years during the 70s and 80s.

Jerry married Norma Jane (Janie) King on June 24, 1967, in Olathe, KS, and they were married for 54 years when she preceded him in death on December 1, 2021. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mallie Jumper, 2 brothers, Jack and Louis Jumper Jr., 4 sisters, Norma Sue, Brenda, Juanita, and Maxine, and one son, Brad Jumper.








Survivors include his sons; Brian Jumper-Osterholt of Council Bluffs, IA and Greg Jumper of Summers, AR, his grandson, Bradley Jumper, and 1 great grand-daughter, Camille, of Afton, OK, as well as many nieces and nephews and their children.

Per Jerry's request his body has been taken for cremation under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Seneca, MO, and there will be no services.
