Carl Poindexter

Carl Edward Poindexter of Sarcoxie, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in Sarcoxie, Missouri, at the age of 91.

Carl was born on March 5, 1935, in rural Missouri. Carl lived a life marked by hard work, devotion, and quiet strength. He carried with him the values of his upbringing throughout his life, meeting each season with dignity and a steady spirit. Those who knew him will remember a man who was kind, generous, and passionate in all that he did.







Carl proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during his military service. His time in the Army reflected his sense of duty and his willingness to serve something greater than himself. Following his military service, Carl built a long and respected career as a carpenter. He was a retired carpenter whose skill, dedication, and work ethic left a lasting impression on those who knew him professionally and personally. Through his craftsmanship, he helped build and repair with care and precision, and he took pride in doing every job well. His hands reflected years of honest labor, and his life reflected the character of a man who understood the value of perseverance and integrity.

Carl found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he especially treasured spending time with his friends. He attended Freedom Christian Fellowship Church in Sarcoxie. Whether he was outdoors or in the company of those he loved, he appreciated good conversation, shared stories, and the comfort of familiar company. These interests brought him happiness and gave him many cherished memories over the years.








Carl is survived by several children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Friday, August 7, 2026, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Fellowship Outreach in care of the funeral home. Inurement will follow at a later date at the Veteran's Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
