(From Peterson Funeral Chapel)Jerry Lee Smith,75, of Aurora, Missouri, peacefully passed away on July 29, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by his family.
Born on December 6, 1950, in Aurora, Missouri, Jerry Smith was the son of Bill and Thelma Smith. He grew up with a strong Christian faith, a deep appreciation for hard work, and a strong love for his family.
Jerry was a devoted husband to his wife of 54 years, Martha, a loving dad, and a proud grandfather.

His military service began in 1969 when he joined the Army National Guard, where he served honorably until 1975. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed various hobbies, including hunting, fishing, gardening, raising horses, watching classic westerns, and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Thelma Smith, and his two brothers, Wayne and Gary. He is survived by his wife, Martha; his children, Traci Willhite (Chris) of Aurora, Mo., and Cynthia Morgan (Joe) of Ava, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Peterson Funeral Chapel, burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time in the Chapel.
