Michael Cooley

Michael Cooley, 57, passed away on July 14, 2026, in Neosho, Missouri. Michale is survived by Aaron Cooley, brother, Marcus Cooley, brother, Brent Welch, son, Kristen Welch, daughter-in-law, Levi Cooley, son, James Cooley, son, Zack Cooley, son, Hunter Cooley, son, Elsie Faye Cooley, daughter and Millie Kay Cooley, daughter. He is preceded in death by Zina Cooley, mother and Landon Cooley, father.

Notable interests, activities, hobbies or passions: He loved all things nerd and absolutely loved Captain America and the Avengers. He also loved talking about dungeons and dragons, about the movie Star Trek. 

Memorable moments and achievements: Michaael loved his kids and he talked about his two youngest daughters every day to his oldest son and about how proud of all of them. He often talked about his youngest sons with his oldest and how his daughters were growing into good women. 

After high school, Michael joined the Air Force where he spent his time as a crew chief for the flight line and spent some time at Okinawa Japan. When he returned home from the Air Force, he met his first wife, Sherri Welch. Michael and Sherri had four boys, Brent Dean Welch, Michael Levi Cooley, James Dalton Cooley and Zachary Alexander Cooley. Michael adored his boys very much and wanted to make sure that they tried to stay on the right path. As time progresses and life changes Michael had many other children whom he also loved. Hunter Cooley of Mountain Grove and Elsie Faye Cooley and Millie Kay Cooley of Neosho. 

 It is Neosho, where he spent the remainder of his life, being there for his daughters. Michael always knew how to bring joy into someone's life. It wasn't too long after talking to Mike that you would start smiling or laughing. Everyone loved Michael and we still do. And we will forever. Michael will be missed very deeply.
