(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Dr. Tom McClure, 97, of Monett passed away Monday July 13, 2026, at Cox Monett Hospital.
He was born in Lawrenceville IL in 1929 to Rex and Mary McClure. He graduated from Taylorville (IL) High School in 1947 and St Louis University School of Dentistry in 1953. He married Phyllis Fischer of Aurora MO also in 1953. He spent the next 2 yrs at Camp Pendleton Naval Base and Iwakuni Japan.
Dr. McClure practiced dentistry in Monett for 42 years before his retirement in 1997. Tom and Phyllis were married for 47 years before her passing in 2001.
He is survived by his daughter Diane, sons Steve, John (Glynda) and Mike (Angie).
Rosary service will be Wednesday July 15 at 5:30 pm at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Visitation will follow from 6:00-7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St Lawrence Church on Thursday July 16 at 10:00 am with burial at Mt Calvary Cemetery in Monett. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to Monett Historical Society. Arrangements entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Missouri.
