(From White Funeral Home)Preston Yunk, age 25, passed away unexpectedly at home in Cassville, Missouri on Tuesday, June 30. He was born September 13, 2000 in Brandon, Florida to Ronald and Janet (Ballenger) Yunk. He attended Valrico Elementary, Mann Middle School, and Durant High School until his family relocated to Cassville in 2018. He was a member of Cassville High School Class of 2019. He continued his education locally at Crowder College and completed his associate's degree before being diagnosed with schizophrenia.
He cherished his friendships and played video games online. Preston was quick with a pun and enjoyed making others laugh. His laugh was hearty and contagious.
He is survived by his parents, brother David of Nogales, Mexico, and brother Powell and his wife Kayla Knight of Leesburg, Virginia. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Maxine Junk of Hutchinson, Kansas. Aunts include Jean Ann Ballenger of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Katie Edelbute of Leawood, Kansas, and Crystal Miller (Darrel) of Hutchinson, Kansas. Uncles include Brook Ballenger of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Robert Yunk (Jonelle) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Steve Yunk of De Soto, Kansas. He is also survived by numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents David & Lois Ballenger, and Raymond Junk.
Please join the family to celebrate his life at White Funeral Home in Cassville, on July 11 at 1:00 pm. Bring your stories to share with family and friends.
