(From Carson-Wall Funeral Home)Ryan Alan Mauersberger, 44, of Parsons, died at 8:28 A.M., Monday, July 13, 2026 at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born June 14, 1982 at Joplin, MO, placed into the loving arms and hearts of Judith Ann (Hostetler) Wells and David Wayne Mauersberger. He attended Guthridge School where he played Suzuki violin from Kindergarten to the Sixth Grade. He was baptized at Hidden Haven Christian Camp in 1995. He graduated from the Parsons High School in 2000. While in high school, he received an award for averting a potential crisis situation in 1998.
Also in high school, he became a volunteer fire fighter for Osage Township in Dennis. He had his own fire truck parked in the driveway of his home, the first of many he owned over the years. In 2003 he completed the pre-hospital trauma life support provider course, Region III EMS. In 2004 he opened his own business, Labco Radio Services. In 2005 he was EMT certified and worked as an EMT and Paramedic for fourteen years, having been employed at the Baxter Springs and Cherryvale Fire Departments and also in Independence, KS, Sedan, Altamont and Vinita, OK. He also worked for the Labette County Sheriff’s office. While working in Independence, he was awarded two life-saving awards.
In 2007 he started employment as an ER tech at the KU Medical Center at Kansas City and was there twelve years. He returned to Parsons in 2015 and opened Finnegan’s Pub and Deli. He was assistant manager of Bomgaars until 2025.
He was a member of the Westside Christian Church. He was devoted to his mother, family and friends, and was courageous, brave, caring, selfless, inspiring, heroic, dedicated and strong. He attended the Stand in the Gap Promise Keepers event on October 4, 1997 in Washington, DC.
Survivors include: his mother and stepfather – Charles and Judith Ann (Hostetler) Wells, Parsons, KS; his uncle – Glenn Hoppes, Parsons, KS; his father and stepmother – David and Marsha Mauersberger, Rogers, AR; two stepbrothers – Bryan Wyckoff, Cherokee, KS, David Wyckoff, Pittsburg, KS; one stepsister – Kimberly Payton, Louisburg, KS; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; his dogs Finnegan, Eddie and Lucy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Westside Christian with Reverends Doug Baty and Randy Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 Friday evening at the CARSON-WALL FUNERAL HOME. Memorials are suggested to Westside Christian Church or to the Osage Township Fire Department.
