David Dye

(From Parker Mortuary)

David Cronin Dye, age 66, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026.

David was born on March 8, 1960, to the late Robert and Anna Jean (Cummins) Dye. He was a proud graduate of Parkwood High School, Class of 1978. He began working at 15th Street Lumber, where he learned the value of honest labor and developed the skills that would help shape his future.

After being moved to the carpet side of the business, he recognized an opportunity and followed his own path by starting his own business, Classic Floors. David was known by those who loved him as a guy with great character and a sense of humor. He enjoyed listening to all the old classic country artists and songs, finding comfort and enjoyment in music that spoke to a simpler time. He also enjoyed owning different classic cars, admiring their style and character. He loved guns, hunting, horses, tractors and farming. He took pride in his John Deere model collection. David was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, a place that remained an important part of his life. Those who knew David will remember a man who worked hard, laughed often, and made his own way in life.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made out to Breast Cancer Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Deanna Grotheer; and one loyal companion, Meeka.

David is survived by his sister, Debby Mitchell; five nieces and nephews, Bridgette McReynolds and husband, Andrew, Hannah Palmer and husband, Zach, Amanda Morris and husband, Brandon, Kaleb Grotheer and wife, Athena, and Morgan White and husband Henry; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaxon, RayAnna, Gabby, Grant, Jadyn, Max, and Cole.
