(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Sharon Ann (Stone) Blankenship, 82, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri. Sharon was born February 4, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Frank and Margaret Stone. Sharon moved to Carthage, Missouri, in 1973 from the Butler, Missouri area. She was a member of the Forever Friends Ladies Group. She enjoyed attending the Can-Do Senior Center in Carthage, sewing, singing in church, and found joy in flower arranging and decorating. Sharon was a very generous and giving person. She attended Faith Life Worship Center in Carthage.
Sharon was united in marriage to Bobby Blankenship on June 17, 1962, in Butler, Missouri. He survives.
Sharon is also survived by daughters Cindy Sanders and husband Larry of Denison, Texas; Misty Hirshey and husband Rick of Carthage, Missouri; three grandchildren and their spouses; Ashley Roberson (Robert), Alyssa Miller (Travis), and Riley Hirshey (Charlie); and seven great grandchildren, Summer Talley,
Anakin Roberson, Jolene Roberson, Xander Miller, Xavier Miller, Wren Hirshey and Brooks Hirshey.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Stone; brother, Gary Stone; and sister, Carolyn Blevins.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Park Cemetery in Carthage.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
