Joe Livingston

(From Derfelt Funeral Home)

Joseph Duane "Joe" Livingston, 39, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas. Ironically, and perhaps fittingly, Joe entered this world and left it on the same date, having been born on July 11, 1987, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, to Russell Lee Livingston and Shannon Rana Snyder.

Joe's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved children, Jackson, Lilly, and Kinsley; his parents, Russell Lee Livingston (Melissa); Shannon Snyder (James); his brother, Jerrod Livingston (Chasity); his sister, Casi Berry (Rance); his grandparents, Waymoth Livingston and Steve Quinn, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who became family through the years.

Joe was preceded in death by his Grandpa Jack Livingston, His grandmother Delsie Quinn, His Uncles; Dewayne Livingston, Travis Gentry, Richard Gentry, and Ronald Reed.

From a very young age, Joe developed a passion for motocross. At just six years old, he earned the title of Missouri State Champion, a proud accomplishment he shared with his father and brother, who spent countless hours riding and racing alongside him. Those early years built not only a love for the sport but also memories that would last a lifetime.

Joe loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. One of his greatest adventures was learning to fish "like a Southerner" from his stepfather, James. One of his proudest memories was catching a shark, a story he loved to tell and one that always brought a smile to his face.

Joe also loved to play pool and at one time joining a pool league where he liked to compete to be the best.

A gifted mechanic, Joe had a natural talent for working on vehicles. He enjoyed solving problems with his hands and was always willing to help someone in need. Whether fixing a vehicle or lending a hand, Joe gave generously of himself.

Joe shared an extraordinary bond with his brother, sister, and cousins. Together, they formed a closeness that only they could truly understand. To those who knew him best, Joe wasn't just a brother or cousin—he was a protector. His presence brought comfort and strength. If Joe was with you, you knew you had someone standing beside you, ready to face whatever life brought.

Through life's hardships and triumphs, they leaned on one another, and those experiences shaped the people they became.

Above all else, Joe loved fiercely. If you were fortunate enough to be loved by him, there was never any doubt. He had a heart as big as his presence, and although many described him as a teddy bear, those closest to him knew the depth of his loyalty, compassion, and unwavering love.

His infectious smile could light up any room, and his striking green eyes are a memory his family and friends will forever hold close to their hearts.

Joe's life reminds us that it is not measured by the number of years we are given, but by the love we share, the memories we create, and the lives we touch. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. There will be a memorial at a later date.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Forever 39.
