Christine R. “Christy” LaDue, age 56 of Joplin, passed away at 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at her home.
Born April 1, 1958 in Lamar, CO, she grew up in Lake of the Ozarks and was a 1976 graduate of School of the Osage High School in Osage Beach, MO. She received her Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Missouri State University in Springfield. She had lived in Joplin the past 22 years. For ten years she was a sales person for the former Check Office Supplies, earning sales lead honors. She has been a salesperson at Shamrock Bolt and Screw for the past 22 years. A Christian, she loved to talk to others about the Lord, particularly women who have experienced abuse. One of her greatest passions was serving as co-owner of Covenant Motorcycle Ministry, a nationwide ministry.
On November 24, 1998, she married Charles Francis (Chuck) LaDue, Sr. at Bentonville, AR. He survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Dean McCowan of Mokane, MO; four sons, Colby Glen Newman and wife Meleony, USAF stationed at Fort Meade, MD, Charles F. LaDue, Jr., Sean Patrick LaDue, and Matthew Logan LaDue, Sr., all of Joplin; five grandchildren, Charles Michael LaDue, Jordin Leigh McDonald, Dredon Lee Watson, Matthew Logan LaDue, Jr., Andrew Robert Newman; her father, Jay Whitney and wife Zoe Lynn of Kaiser, MO; her mother, Judy Cook and husband Ralph of Cedar City, UT; four siblings, Lisa Kay Weir and husband William of Nixa, MO, Cory Dean Whitney and wife Laura of Lenexa, KS, Deana Lynn Gum and husband Aaron of Blue Springs, MO, Katrina (Katie) Ranee Whitney of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Abundant Life, 6863 E. Newman Rd, Joplin, with Pastor Larry Bjorklund officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Parker Mortuary.
