Dorothy M. Peters, 86 past away October 18, 2014 at Carthage Health and Rehab Carthage, MO.
Dorothy was born in Carthage, MO July 31, 1928 to Elmer A. Ogden and Myrtle Iva (Bass) Ogden. Dorothy was a lifetime Carthage resident and a school teacher, she taught in rural Carthage and the Webb City area for many years. Dorothy was a member of the Fairview Christian Church and was an active member; she served on the Farm Bureau and on the Jasper County Extension Council.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Henry Peters August 14, 1949. He passed November 2001. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Stine, and husband, Terry of Boise, Idaho, Susan M. White of Asheville, North Carolina, one son Larry Peters and wife Jan of Carthage, five grandchildren Julie Rangel of Boise Idaho, Dana Thomas of Grand Junction, CO, David Stine of Portales, NM, Carrie Naglak of Kuna, Idaho and Lee Peters of Carthage, and ten great grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded by her parents, her husband one brother Owen Ogden, and one son-in-law, Terry White, M.D.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday October 23, 2014 at Park Cemetery Carthage, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday October 22, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com. Contributions can be made to the Fairview Christian Church in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
