Edith M. “Edie” Nicholson, age 62, of Springfield, Mo. a former Webb City resident, passed away at 12:46 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at her home in Springfield.
Edie was born September 7, 1952 in Joplin, Mo. She was raised in Webb City and was a 1970 graduate of Webb City High School. She graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 1975. Edie was employed as a Medical Technician, working at Mercy Hospitals in Joplin and Springfield, Hillcrest Hospitals in Tulsa, Ok., and the Smith-Glyn-Calloway Clinic in Springfield. Edie was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Webb City.
Survivors include her Mother, Isabelle Moss, Webb City, a step brother, O.J. Moss, two step sisters, Helen Louise Hoover (Larry), and Catherine Anderson, a sister in law, Martha Nicholson-Clark (Tommy), an aunt, Helen Johns, an uncle, Bill Duensing (Twyla), nieces, Michele, Angela, and Elizabeth, step nieces, Cynthia, and Ginger, and step nephews, Grant, Jeff, Wardell, and Jamal. She was preceded in death by her Father, Boyd Nicholson, her Step Father, Oliver Moss, a brother, John Nicholson III, an uncle, Ted Johns, and a step nephew, Gary.
Memorial graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Hope Cemetery open air chapel with Rev. Bob Easton officiating. Memorial contributions are requested to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in care of First Baptist Church of Webb City or the Funeral Home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City, Mo.
