Helen Marie Moorehead age 89 Joplin, Mo. passed away Friday October 10, 2014 following an illness.
She was born September 21, 1925 in Joplin, Mo. to Gaylen and Bertha Morris Mayo. Helen worked for several manufacturing companies, including Redings Mill Salad and the George Hempen Company. She enjoyed quilting and had made quilts for several of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by 2 sons; Earl “Corky” Moorehead and wife Dianna, Joplin, Mo, Billy Moorehead, Joplin, Mo, 3 daughters; Sally Loyd, Joplin, Mo, Norma English and husband Tony, Joplin. Mo, Elaine Harding and husband Tom, Carl Junction, Mo, 1 sister Marie Whited,, 3 sisters in law Lida Carrico, Loretta Mayo, Violet Carrico, 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 15, 2014 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary chapel with Tony English officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Those serving as pallbearers will be; Keith Shelby, Scott Shelby, Shawn Loyd, Anthony English, Zachary Wald, and Mark Heman. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
