Larry Gene Edie, age 74 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Freeman Hospital following an extended illness.
Larry was born February 19, 1940 to the late William Kenneth and Hazel Marie Channel Edie in Mano, Missouri. Larry grew up in the Kansas City area before moving to Joplin in 1973. Larry was founder, CEO and President of Kemlee Manufacturing Inc. as well as Allmetal Products Inc. and KMI Metals Inc. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Joplin.
Larry is survived by the love of his life, Linda Lou Edmondson Edie whom he married on June 16, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Melissa Ann Schneickert (Bud) of Walton, Kentucky, Monica Lynn Flanagan (Bill) of Riverton, Illinois, Kendra Noelle Henderson (Danny) of Joplin; seven grandchildren, Hannah Moore, Matthew Casper, Spencer Schneickert, Dominic Moore, Olivia Moore, Alexa Henderson and Drew Henderson.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary and Dennis Edie and one nephew Seth Edie.
Services are planned for Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Parker Mortuary. Family will receive friends Friday from 6-7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
