Stephanie Ann Kerby, age 44, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Mercy Hospital after a sudden illness.
Stephanie was born January 10, 1970 in Belvidere, Illinois, and moved to Miami, Oklahoma as a child where she attended grade school and junior high, and then later moved to Joplin where she graduated from Joplin High School in 1988. She then earned a Bachelor of Science at Missouri Southern State University, and earned her paramedic license while there. She worked for JEMS, METS, and Newton County EMS for several years, and also earned her RN degree in California, and returned to Joplin and worked for both St. John's and Freeman as an RN. She was a loving person who cared for many, and recently loved spending time with her grandchild, Pierce.
Survivors include her parents, Sharon Gray and husband John Bettes of Grove, Oklahoma, Windell Kerby and wife Jan of Orlando, Florida; children, Kimberly Campbell, Jessica Campbell, Jacob Lugenbell, and Kerby Lugenbell all of Joplin; grandchild, Pierce Alexander; brothers, Stephen Kerby of Grove, and Brian Kerby of Yorkville, Illinois; several nieces and nephews,
Memorial services will be Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. at College Heights Christian Church with Reverend Jay St. Clair officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the family to help with final expenses.
