Willis Gene Jeffers, 84, Purdy, MO, passed away Wednesday evening, October 22, 2014 at Mercy Hospital Cassville. Willis was born on December 22, 1929 in Carthage, MO to Willis John Jeffers and Erma Linder. On September 19, 1959 he married Mabel Lavenia White, they were married for 47 years before her passing in 2006. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. Willis retired in 1988 from Flexolaters and also spent many years farming. He was a lifetime member of Blake Baptist Church and was a current member of New Site Baptist Church in Monett, MO.
Survivors include one daughter; Lavenia Wood (husband Darrin), Purdy, MO, one son; Willis Dean Jeffers (wife Kimberley), Phoenix, AZ, one sister; Gaylene Harp, Phoenix, AZ, and three grandchildren; Tori Wood, Kylie Wood, and Elizabeth Arnold.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mabel, and one brother, David Dean Jeffers.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Saturday, October 25, 2014 with a funeral service following at 2 PM at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Aaron Weible and Rocky Harris will officiate.
