Tony Lee Pierce, age 55 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his residence following a sudden illness.
Tony was born August 2, 1959 to the late Harald Crampton and Betty Pierce in Joplin. He has lived in the Joplin area his entire life. Tony graduated from Parkwood High School in Joplin and then entered into the United States Marine Corp, serving our country for eight years. Tony was working for Eagle Picher in the waste disposal department at the time of his passing. He was a past president for the United Steel Workers Union, Local 812.
On May 27, 1989, Tony married Sharyl Huffman in Joplin. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Curt Pierce of Joplin; daughter, Amanda Huffman of Joplin; five grandchildren, Caden, Jacob, Joe, Serenity and Bentley; brother, Nick Crampton of the State of Indiana; sisters, Ann Crampton-Haney of Irving, Texas, Betty Moore of Irving, Texas, Glenda Lett of Grove, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A memorial service has been planned for Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Parker Mortuary. Family will receive friends following the service.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
