Russel James Edwards, age 69, of Las Vegas, Nv., passed away on Sunday September 28, 2014, at Mt. View hospital in Las Vegas, following an illness.
Russel was born on February 20, 1945 in West Union, Ia., the son of the late Gordon and Margaret (Sanford) Edwards. He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a computer Analyst for Southwest Gas Company in Las Vegas, Nv. Russel was a member of the Christian Church. He was an accomplished musician. He played both the French Horn and the Accordion.
He married Veronica McDonald and she survives. Additional survivors include; two sisters, Marilyn Edwards and Pam Edwards, both of Joplin; two brothers, Ron Edwards, New Zealand, Mi. and Dennis Edwards and wife Dorothy, Moberly, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Osborne Cemetery. B.A. Austin will officiate. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
