Mr. Donald Eaten “Don” Ogden, 72, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at National Health Care Center in Joplin, Missouri, after years of failing health.
Don entered this life on August 24, 1942, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, one of four sons born to the union of the late Dixon and Margaret (Miller) Ogden. He resided in Florida, Illinois, Arkansas, Kansas and Texas before moving to Missouri. He worked as a printing press operator, worked in sales, owned his own cleaning company and was a truck driver for Butterball. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Donald is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Ronda Ogden, whom he married on February 26, 1988. Additional survivors include his six children, Lee Wyatt, Donald Ogden, Kevin Ogden, Dustin Briscoe, Tammy DeWet and Rachel Miranda; six grandchildren; three brothers, Dick, Terry and Scott Ogden; his father and mother in-law, Edwin and Helen Kennedy; dear friends, Bobby and Wanda Cooper; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to Don’s many friends for their countless prayers and friendship.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Ogden are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri, with Pastor Bobby Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
