Nancy Normadean Salsman, age 78 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away October 8, 2014 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin following a lengthy illness.
Nancy was born February 9, 1936 to the late George W. Youngblood and Goldia E. Vance Youngblood Knowles in Granby, MO. Nancy proved to be a hard worker even at a young age while stacking wood and coal before the natural gas stoves were invented. She worked for Crown Financial and Clyde Love District prior to becoming a licensed real estate agent. As an agent, she worked for many real estate companies in the area including Salzer Real Estate, Rolla Stephens, Century 21 and was a partner/broker in Pro 100 prior to retiring. Nancy was active in the community and was a member of the Soroptimist Club, Women's Investment Club and the Ozark Gateway Chapter of A.B.W.A..
Nancy married Robert Salsman on March 25, 1961 in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2014. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, three sisters and a son in-law, Gary German.
Survivors include her son, Larry Salsman and wife Debbie of Atlanta, Georgia; daughters, Sandra Bowerman and Shelia German both of Joplin; grandchildren, Quentyn Bowerman and Erin Renee Patton also of Joplin; great-grandchild, Skout Savusa of Joplin; brother in-law, Bruce Salsman of Neosho, Missouri, two great-nieces and four great-great nieces.
A memorial services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
