William “Pooter” Norris, 41, Carthage, passed away Sunday evening October 26, 2014 after a sudden illness. William “Pooter” Norris was born on March 17, 1973 in Carthage, MO, the son of Rudy Jack Norris and Mary Hinsdale. He married Misty Gardner on March 7, 2010. William was a member of the Joplin Full Gospel Church in Joplin, MO and also attended the River Street Gathering in Carthage. William was a soft hearted man who loved Jesus with all his heart and didn't know a stranger. He spent his years working for Leggett and Platt and also Carthage Health and Rehab doing manual labor.
Survivors include his wife; Misty Gardner, Carthage, his parents; a son; William Carl Norris Jr., Carthage, a daughter; Ashley Rachael Norris, Joplin, two sisters; Mary Parker, Carthage, and Cordelia Thompson, Carthage, and two brothers; James Riddle, (wife Brandi), Joplin, Rudy Jack Norris Jr.,Carthage, and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014, 3:00 PM at Reeds Cemetery, Reeds, MO. There will be a memorial after the service at the River St. Gathering 210 N. River St. at 4:30. He always made me feel part of the family. Always giving me a hug and telling me I had him. Wonderful amazing sweet, caring gentleman. He always made me feel like I was normal,like I belonged, I wasn't a freak or a misfit to him. Thank you uncle poot, we love and miss you. Walk with us and help us please.
