Clair Mae Hill, age 81, Joplin, passed away at 1:13 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at her home after an illness.
Ms. Hill was born April 20, 1933 in Stark City, Missouri to the late St. Clair Rodgers and Lucy Wright Rodgers and had lived in Joplin all of her life.
She worked very hard all of her life and retired from Economic Security Corporation of Southwest Area, Head Start Program as a teacher. She was a loving homemaker to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and was an accomplished upholsterer.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Hudson, Joplin, James A Hill, Joplin, Lionel Hill, Cameron, Alvin Hill, Carthage, Stephen Hill, St. Joseph, MO, Michael Hill, Pierce City, MO, Anette Fields, Joplin, Anise Hill, Joplin; her siblings, Johnny Rodgers, California, Josephine Rodgers, Atlanta, Georgia, Emogene Thomas, Pittsburg, Kansas, Arbella Rodgers, Joplin; 25 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Millie Gunn; and two brothers, Aubrey Rodgers and Ralph Rodgers.
Clair Mae has been taken for cremation. No formal services are planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
