John W. Bruffett, 93 passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 in Carthage, MO.
John was born September 23, 1920 in Rural Jasper, Missouri to Everett Bruffett and Martha Jane “Keener” Bruffett. He was a lifetime area resident and dairy farmer all his life. John served in the United States Army during WWII. He served on the MFA oil Board, Chairman of the cemetery board at Hackney Cemetery, several years on the rural Mayflower School board, and the board of trustees at the Grand Avenue Church of God.
John was united in marriage to Faye Allene “Keller” December 15, 1943 in Carthage, Missouri, she survives. John is survived by two daughters Sharon Lawrence and husband Bruce of Carthage, Martha Ann Cisco and husband Guy of Wasola, MO. two sons Ron Bruffett and wife Melanie of Lamar and Charles Bruffett and wife Kathleen of Carthage, seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, John was preceded by his parents, two sisters Louise Lankford, Ruth Lawrence and one brother Louis Bruffett.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 12, 2014 at Grand Avenue Church of God, Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday June 11, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hackney Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
