Marvin Randolph “Randy” Scott, age 64 of Carthage, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness of over one year.
Born December 15, 1949 in Springfield, MO, he was the son of the late Harold and Wanda Scott. Randy graduated from high school and attended MSSU. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Medical Technician for over 11 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He also worked at V.A. Medical Centers and was a civil service employee of the F.D.I.C. He was a Roman Catholic and belonged to the D.A.V.
He married Helena S. Chong in 1977. She survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Natalie Cook and husband Sam of Kansas City, MO; a son, Brian Scott of Missouri; a grandson, Jonah Cook; two brothers, Chris and Craig Scott; and a sister, Barbara.
Two siblings, Stephen Scott and Jennifer Scott, preceded him in death.
Graveside services with Military Rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
