Rufus ‘Jim’ Fare, 79, Granby, died June 14, 2014 at his home in Granby, following a lengthy illness.
Jim was born Sept. 30, 1934 in Amy, MO and lived in Kansas City, Kansas prior to moving to Neosho in 1990 and lived in Granby the last seven years. Jim worked as a mail carrier for Wilcox Truck Lines prior to retirement. He was an avid fisherman, loved history, especially war and military history and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Silver Moon Full Gospel Church.
Jim married Dixie Miller on Aug. 19, 1955 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1989; he then married Ramona Ann (Miller) Fare on August 10, 1989 at Shawnee Mission, KS and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2012. Jim is survived by a daughter, Paula Louise Holmes; a son, Lester Donald (Nells) Fare; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by a son, James Raymond Fare in 2011.
