Francis M. Gambill, age 72, Joplin passed away on Monday May 26, 2014, at her home, following an illness.
Francis was born on November 16, 1941 in Joplin, the daughter of the late Jack and Lavica (Hough) Tate. She has been a lifetime area resident. She married John Gambill in 1968 in Joplin. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her oldest son Wesley Gambill in 1988.
She is survived by her husband John Gambill, Joplin; three sons, George Gambill, Lawson, Mo, Joseph Gambill, Joplin, and Bucky Gambill, Sand Springs, Ok; two daughters, Jessica Overby, Leavenworth, Ks., and Rachel Whitaker, Gardner, Ks.; one sister, Wilma Massey, Joplin; twenty-three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Ralph Beasley will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
