Harold Mailes, 81, Neosho, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Medicalodge in Neosho from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
Harold was born on July 12, 1932 in the Dessa Community, between Neosho and Seneca, the son of Lloyd and Opal (Skaggs) Mailes and was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He worked at Rocketdyne in the 1960’s and served as general manager of Burr Motor Company for many years. He had served as President of both the Neosho Kiwanis Club and the Neosho Men’s Golf Association. He accepted Christ at an early age and served the Lord faithfully all of his life.
Harold and Carmen Burr were married on September 30, 1954 and she survives. Also surviving are his son, Kim and his wife, Carol of Neosho; his daughter, Traci McCreary and husband, Joe of Colorado Springs, Colorado and his grandson, Colton Mailes and wife, Audrey of Denver, Colorado. Also surviving are six siblings, Virginia Irvin of Seneca, Maurice Mailes of Seneca, Patsy Meyer of Seneca, Freddie Mailes of Bella Vista, AR, Aleta Platner of Neosho and Olan Mailes of Neosho.
