Steven Nathanial Benz, 28 passed away May 27, 2014.
Steven was born July 2, 1985 in Joplin, MO to Mark and Rhonda Benz. Steven was raised in Neosho lived in Arkansas and S. E. Texas and Kentucky. Steven was a corporal in the United States Army. He was the recipient of the Army achievement medal, Army good conduct medal, National defense service medal, Global war on terrorism service metal, Iraq campaign medal with a campaign star, overseas service ribbon and armed forces reserve metal, with service in Kuwait and 2 tours in Iraq one with the National Guard and one with the Army. He served with the Patriot Missile defense system, performing several missions in Germany, Poland, Israel and other Nations.
Steven is survived by His parents Mark and Rhonda Benz, one son Kevin Augustus Benz of Dallas, Texas. Eight sisters Rebekah Uchtman, Kathleen Benz, Danielle Benz, Chantal Benz, Mary Benz, Madeline Benz, Sarah Rose Benz and Leah Benz. Four brothers Isaac Benz, Seth Benz, Christopher Benz and Stephan Judah Benz. Grandmother Mildred “Miki” Benz, Florida and Grandparents Paul and Jane Angelo of Granby, MO. Steven is preceded in death by his Grandfather Reverend Ervin Benz.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 7, 2014 at Bykota Church South of Carthage, Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday June 6, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. A private burial will be at the Veterans National Cemetery in Springfield MO at a later date. Contributions can be made to Bykota church in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
