Harold Gene Harris, 91, Stark City, Missouri, entered into rest on August 20, 2017 at Granby House, Granby, MO, following a short illness.
Harold was born Feb. 4, 1926 in Fairview, Missouri, the son of Amza and Lovenia O’Dell (Bradley) Harris and was a lifelong Fairview and Stark City resident and graduated from Fairview High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army and served as Postmaster in Stark City for 24 years. He was a dairy and cattle farmer and a longtime Cardinals fan.
Harold and Cynthia (Poor) were married on Sept. 6, 1944 in Carroll County, Arkansas and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2013. He is survived by two sons, Larry Harris and wife, Maxine and Terry Harris and wife, Brenda, all of Stark City; one brother, Ray Harris of Stark City; five grandchildren, Melissa Brunner and husband, Rob, Clovis Harris and wife, Michelle, Marla Harris, Sam Harris and wife, Shelly, Brent Harris and wife, Cindy; nine great grandchildren; Tyler White, Houston Harris, Lauren Bray, McKenzie Horne, Milton Brunner, Georgia Mae Harris, Adaline Harris, Cecilia Harris and Amza Rae Harris and two great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Clovis Harris and two sisters, Wanda Dickens and Dean Allen.
Graveside Services and full military honors will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 at 2 pm at the Muncie Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Tuesday evening at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby from 6 pm to 8 pm.
