Herman L. “Pete” Dunn, age 85 of Carl Junction, Mo., passed away August 14, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born September 7, 1931, in Alba, Mo. to Samuel and Pearl (Lasiter) Dunn. He has lived in Carl Junction for 20 years moving there from Carthage. Pete worked as a truck driver for Moore’s Mfg, Campbell’s 66, Manley Transfer and ended his career at Raco Car Wash as an attendant. He enjoyed cars and attended many car shows and belonged to the Cherokee Outlaw Cruisers Car Club.
Herman married Marcine Rowsey on October 7, 1951 in Wichita, Ks., she preceded him in death on August 5, 2007. Survivors include two sons, Sam Dunn and his wife Carman of Kansas City, Mo., David Dunn and his wife Linda of Carthage, Mo. Five Daughters, Virginia Kesinger and her husband William of Oronogo, Mo., Debbie Wheeler of Pittsburg, Ks., Sandra Chew of Joplin, Janice Pope and her husband Walter of Joplin, Tammy McGuirk and her husband Mike of Carthage, Mo. A brother, James “Bob” Dunn of Pittsburg, Ks. Eighteen grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Arthur Dunn and four sisters, Sylvia Benson, Dorothy Myers, his twin sisters Pauline and Ailene.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Dunn, Joseph Dunn Tim Kesinger, Ben Kesinger, Jacob Adams, Luke Dunn and Walter Pope.
