Jeanne Gibbs, age 75, of Webb City, Mo. passed away at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at her home in rural Webb City surrounded by her family. Jeanne was born July 13, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She moved to the Webb City area in 1973 where she began teaching in the Carthage School District. She was an elementary teacher for Fairview and Mark Twain Schools. She retired in 2001. Jeanne was a member of College Heights Christian Church in Joplin.
Jeanne married Joe Gibbs March 23, 1963 in Oklahoma City and he survives. Additional survivors include two daughters, Kayla Collins and husband Tom, Orlando, Florida, and April Wages, Springfield, Mo., her mother, Gerrie Wiegman, Ormond Beach, Florida, one sister, Kay Duff, Ormond Beach, Florida, and four grandchildren; Zachary Collins and wife Anna, Paige Collins, and McKenzie and Kassidy Wages. She was preceded in death by her Father, Floyd Wiegman, a brother, Rick Wiegman and a son in law, Kurtis Wages.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at College Heights Christian Church Chapel with Rick Bushnell, Minister, officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good News Productions Intl. or World Poverty Solutions in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
