Imogene Mary Dymott Page, age 93, formerly of Joplin, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Carthage.
Imogene was born December 21, 1923 in Joplin, daughter of the late DeWitt and Bessie Craig.
On April 3, 1942 she married Charles W. Dymott, who preceded her in death on April 9, 1974. On March 20, 1980 she married Marvin N. Page. Marvin preceded her in death on April 18, 2008.
Imogene, or Jeanie as her friends called her, graduated from Joplin Senior High School in May 1941, and then graduated from Joplin Junior College in May 1943. When Charlie Dymott was shipped overseas during WWII, Jeanie moved to Staten Island, New York where she stayed with Charlie's family. After the war, the couple stayed in New York but Jeanie was home sick for Joplin. Upon returning to Joplin they built a home at 3345 Sergeant Ave.. Jeanie continued her career as a secretary in different businesses and medical offices. After retirement, she and Marvin enjoyed going to the lake and traveling. She was a member of the chapter GQ of P.E.O., a volunteer at Freeman Hospital, and was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Joplin.
Jeanie is survived by sons Jeff Dymott and wife Nancy (Howerton), Carthage, MO, Larry Dymott, Texarkana, TX., step-daughter Nancy Page Allen and husband Richard "Butch" Allen of Grove, OK; grandchildren James Dymott, St. Louis, Jean Ann Dymott, Dallas, TX, step-grand sons Steve Page, Joplin, Darren Allen, Grove and four step-great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in First United Methodist Church with visitation at the Church on Thursday, prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
The family requests any memorials be given to First United Methodist Church, Joplin.
