Ellen Norine Morris Henderson (Virgin), 66 years old, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Thursday June 14, 2018.
She was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas, raised in Spring City and Greenwood, graduated at Parkwood High School. Ellen is the daughter of Oren and Ruth Virgin. Ellen had one sister, Mary Virgin Davis and brother in law, Harold (Bill) Davis, and two brothers Oscar Virgin and sister in law Nancy Virgin Harvey Virgin, sister in law Connie Virgin.
Ellen has two daughters; Sara Johnson, (son in law Mark Johnson) and Judy Crouch, (son in law Sean Crouch.)
Ellen has nine grandchildren; Natasha Johnson, Marquita and Marcos Hernandez, Emily and Andrew Harper, Mack Barton, Maranda Barton, Anita and Dylan Shaner.
Ellen has seventeen great-grandchildren; Zion and Adriana Johnson, Venicio Sareya and Zhuri Hernandez, Kyliee Kolbi Liam, Emmalynn Harper, Aden Mariah Dante, Ryker Barton, Takala Shaner, Vance Shaner, and two angel babies.
Ellen was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, grandma, and great-grandma also known as GG to her great-grandchildren. Friends and family knew her as (Tuttie).
Ellen was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She was a Certified Nurses Aide at Webb City Rehabilitation Center. She also was a Daycare Teacher at Mercy Discovery Center. She worked at The Lafayette House as a monitor. Ellen’s last job was at The Salvation Army as a monitor for fifteen years.
Ellen was happy, loving and had a crazy sense of humor with everyone she came in contact with. She formed so many long-lasting friendships.
Memorial services hosted by the family are planned for Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in The Salvation Army Chapel, 320 East Eighth Street, Joplin.
