Jewel Lavon Vonier, 81, is now at rest with her Lord and Savior. She passed June 19, 2018 in Joplin, Missouri. Jewel was born October 14, 1936 in Rocky Ford, CO. She was a longtime Jasper and Barton County resident. Jewel deeply valued her personal relationship with her Savior, often recounting stories of His miracles and mercy.
Jewel was united in marriage to Maurice Vonier October 24, 1954 in Nashville, MO; he preceded her in death February 13, 2004.
Jewel is survived by one daughter, Cindy McNeff (David); three sons, Tony Vonier (Nancy), John Vonier and Bruce Vonier (Cheryl); one sister, Dixie Peterson (Bob); one brother, Gary Cassatt (Mary); one sister-in-law, Nana Cassatt; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Jewel was preceded in death by one sister, Joy Bradford and one brother, Larry Cassatt.
Visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Hackney Cemetery.
